Inspired by wrist wamers I found in Marie-Claire Idees' winter issue, I made these blue/green ones for myself. These are easy to make BUT not so fast as previous patterns as they are much less chunky. No, these actually took some time to knit but they are cute, and that’s what counts.
You need:
- Wool (mine is a thin quality 70% wool, 30% angora – I guess 50 gram is enough, but I am not really sure so buy enough and see if you can return)
- Needles 3,5 and 4 mm
Cast on 56 stitches on the 3,5 needle and knit 2 knit stitches and 2 purl stitches. Repeat this so you end the row with purl stitches. Continue this for 29 rows so you have knitted 30 rows on the 3,5 needles. Then put all the stitches on the 4 needle and repeat what you have done on the 3,5 (2 knit, 2 purl for 30 rows). Cast off and close the sides leaving about 2,5 cm (or slightly more, whatever is comfortable) open for your thumb, on the wide 4 mm side.
{The wool I used I found in my stock without a label – you might try and deviate a bit from the pattern.}

This is probably my favorite piece of knitwear I have made. A scarf I just want to wear every single day. It’s quite simple and fast too. Try if you like!
You need:
- needles 9 mm
Cast on 21 stitches and start with the stockinette stitch for 6 rows (knit 1 row, purl 1 row, repeat 3 times). After that, continue with the moss stitch (1 knit 1 purl a row, and then for the next row, purl the knit stitches and knit the purl stitches). Continue until the scarf is long enough for your liking and you have enough wool left to finish with 6 rows of stockinette stitch, the same as you started.
