Some delay in journal entries but the cause of it is very happy - Jeroen has a new nephew! And this occasion of course asked for some instant sewing. I planned to make the adorable Bitty Booties by Heather earlier, but the theme was still open. After the news of a born boy I decided to go tor the aviation theme (little Klaas' father being a pilot too!).
[Veronica made some adorable - more girly - bitty booties too]

A box for my three journals -- with lovely paper covered sent to me by Kristyn.
[I am always sort of more focused on processes than on end results. Having finished a project, I can't wait to move to the next. But now that I have my new camera, documenting end results is so much more fun...]

Yesterday, we had a kind of mini vacation in The Hague. We saw a lot of great art, from the girl with the pearl earring, to stillife photos of Evelyn Hofer to street art - in a museum (especially liked Bfreeone). We had dinner at the beach (first - and last? - time this summer).

*** Treats update ***
It works again. Oh, technology always freaks me out a bit but I am online again. With the same URL's: www.treatsandtreasures.com and www.treatsandtreasures.nl (soon www.treatsandtreasures.eu will be added to the list). The best thing is you don't have to change anything! Unlike I said before my feed address has not changed (which I have Jeroen and Jochem of Netvlies to thank for BIG TIME).
Pfeww, now quickly back to drawing and designing... Err, with pencils, paper and stuff.

*** Treats newsflash***
My dear readers/feed subscribers--
From tomorrow on, my feeds will have a different location/URL. I changed my host and for several reasons - which I won't bore you with - my feeds will have a different address. I hope the transition will go smoothly (fingers crossed!) but I am planning to have my website as of tomorrow available on:
- treatsandtreasures.com
- treatsandtreasures.nl
- treatsandtreasures.eu (new! - thanks to my dear friend Frederique for this sweet gift :-))

After the swap with Carolyn, another great package arrived. This time, from the super sweet Julie.
It was so full of attentive gifts. Firstly, she made a very nice box for me. A Treats & Treasures box in fact! (With a tulip on it for the Dutchie :-)) She included some treasures already, like the shell, the leafs, a baboushka filled with glass beads - all so lovely...
Also, she made a pinboard for my birthday. A great way to collect inspirative things for Moodboard Monday - which Julie started...
Then, there was a drawing by her little Shelly. Did you spot the catterpillar on the right - with all these feet? Big kiss for pretty little (and talented!) Shelly.
Also, lots of great paper was included. I did a swap with Shari once - and Shari said she like "found papers" and since then I have a name for the paper I like. So, lots of Israeli "found" papers in there, my favorites being the papers inside the cigar boxes Julie uses for her art works. And some lovely "new" sheets were included too, along with a beautiful vintage coffee cup. Thanks a lot Julie - you are the best!
I did a swap with my dear friend Carolyn of Mizutamago - and I received the loveliest goodies. First and foremost, a wonderful handmade tote with her own design on it! I'm so happy with it - it will carry school supplies my next fall in school again (can you believe it - at 27 ?!? :-)). But for now, my knitting stuff is in there...
Also, she made a super cute robot (robots are the next big thing!) work of art - that is just great in our cupboard, in good company between recently purchased works of Camilla and Stella.
Also she included vintage (but never used!) sunglasses, a great hairband, bangle, ring, office supplies (which I always LOVE), little purse with cupcakes, a vintage clutch, and some Japanese cute things... Thank you so much Carolyn - for all these things I love!
Check out Carolyn's site - it's such a wonderful blog that shows great fashion style, Japanese cuteness but also some - what you might call - Scandinavian (or even Dutch) design simplicity?!? Well, how you call it, it's just lovely...

I love this pattern - it's just the easiest and quickest thing I knitted and I quite like the result. It's great with la Petite Robe Noire in winter - going to a formal family dinner or a classical concert :-)I got the green wool and the pattern at La Droguerie in Nice last year. So when I was in Paris some weeks ago, I decided to buy wool for a a blue/grey version too. Now that the blue one is finished (in less than two afternoons really), I am thinking of adjusting a scarf to it and wear it as a cape/scarf, without the ribbon. When that's done, I'll post about it. Ok, the pattern...
You need:
- 50 gram Kid Mohair (90% mohair, 10% polyamide) in the two colors you want to use (so 100 gram in total)
- Needles size 15 mm
- Satin ribbon 1 m
Cast on 22 stitches with the two colors, very loosely. From here you knit one knit stitch and one purl stitch, starting with a knit stitch and ending with a purl stitch for each row. Just continue until the wool is finished and bind off (keep enough wool to bind off ofcourse). Pull the ribbon through your pretty etole and make a bow. Voila!

Corners of my home --The other day, I mentioned my "inspiration wall". Well, it's not really a wall - but more the inside of two closet doors. I got the closet from my parents and it is so much loved. It is quite old and has a beautiful color. It just fits so wonderful in our - mainly modern - interior. And it is really "me", full of my stuff like fabrics, paper, stamps, paint etc...

It's my birthday and I am so behind posting because of all birthday related activities like baking, cleaning and more baking. Just a quick note that you MUST bake these biscotta's - they are just heavenly (and easy to make too!).
I will be back next week - 27 and stuffed :-)
